October 23rd 2016

"I want you want me more than I want you, I want to be invited and I want to decide if I want to come. I want to be most wanted, I definitely want to be the one who wants to leave first - Because I don't want to be the one who isn't wanted and IF we want to catch up, I want to be the hot one....
Do you still want me?"

IKG LIVE #1

IKG LIVE 1 is a two-day festival dedicated to live art (including happenings and actions, performance, physical theatre and dance). Each day includes live performances that will take place in the Illingworth Kerr Gallery, one after the other or simultaneously. A public program, including participating artists will take place at the conclusion of each day.

YOU CAN CALL ME BABY : Straddling the space between sexual empowerment and the ever-present burden of female objectification can often feel like an ongoing battle. For every nipple freed there's an Instagram account suspended, for every 'body positive' clothing, there's a cooperation co-oping female empowerment for commercial gain. Why is female sexuality still shocking?
